The Paul Lyons Solo Project is guitar and song with a bit of harmonica on a rack-holder. I also play some of the songs on piano when that is available. I play original songs, old jazz tunes, cool gems for the 1960s and 70s, protest songs, songs about the environment and some more originals. It is a one man band that is music for ALL AGES. It works best during the daytime, when the words have a chance to settle into the corners of your mind. Below are some recent live demo recordings of the tunes. I play regularly at the Ocean Ale House on Ocean Avenue in San Francisco and at various street festivals around town.
All the takes below are live recordings except for Here By My Side that has some overdubs. The recordings were made with at TASCAM DR-1.
SOME RECENT POSTERS
Uncharted Dreams
The work is hard
and the fight never ends
It’s stormy weather,
we got women’s rights to defend.
And roads to build,
And bridges to mend.
Hard work is good work
The people who do it are your friends.
Chorus
Overcome, overcome
We shall overcome.
Overcome, overcome
We shall overcome.
We’re gonna’ carry the load
We’re gonna’ fight the good fight.
The page is turning
The stars do shine so bright.
We’re gonna’ get out the vote
We’re gonna shake some hands.
We’re gonna’ bring people together
Across this great land.
